J. Fred Sparke Elementary School

Excellence and Success for All Students

The Island Trees elementary art program is designed to reach all students and provide a wide variety of experiences and instruction. The art program at J. Fred Sparke Elementary School encourages students to be creative and to appreciate the arts. While implementing the New York State Art Standards, our art instruction also focuses on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Many art projects are introduced through literature, viewing of art history, and through an interdisciplinary connection.  The students demonstrate their creativity and imagination through their outstanding artwork. Regardless of one's talent, art allows our students to explore their own imagination and to develop skills to help create wonderful works of art.
